I just turned 18 two days ago and all my life i've had an interest in investing in real estate however due to the down market i've been a little discouraged.

Investing is risky and requires a lot of research. Some of the best markets tend to be very pricey for an initial investment, but if you can find an area to purchase now and rent it out to cover your mortgage and flip when the market picks up...it is a good start. Just do your homework, know what you're getting into and make sure you have enough cash on hand to cover unexpected costs.

I tried to make the question as broad as possible to get the most information on the topic as possible.

Investment wise, a downed market discourages you? It encouraged the hell out of me.

Yeah of course a downed market is good for obvious reasons(Cheaper properties, desperate home sellers, etc.) but it discouraged me because I'm gonna be out there on my own and I like people would rather invest or buy properties from someone who is older rather than an 18 year kid with dreams of buy a buggati is 5 years. BTW The pic of harvey is too cool. He's such a boss lol

You're 18, you won't get respect from anyone, so don't expect to receive it in any situation.

And I can appreciate your desire to be successful, but you aren't going to gain respect from anyone on here typing like you do.

Let's delve into this a little. Where is your capital coming from for these properties? Who's consigning, because you're 18 with no credit, no one will lend to you.

I'm going to try and wholesale property to get some capital but i think my dads gonna support me. He gave me the choice of paying for college or investing in real estate and right now on debating on what I should choose. I'm most likely going to ingest the "red pill" and get the money to invest. And I'm sorry about my demeanor
