    Default Man Cave/3 Car garage

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to build a new garage in the backyard. It will serve its purpose as my "man cave" as well as the 3 car garage, and still looking for some design insight/ideas. Not sure of the specs yet, but if anyone has a cool 3 car garage, please post some pics!

    Thanks!

I already have the 2 car garage that is attached to my house, but I'd like to add another section of pavement to a garage in my backyard. BTW your garage is amazing!

Thank you. I have two 2-car garages (both attached to my home) and it is very convenient. If I had the room, I might have made one into a 3-car garage, but so far they are serving me very well.

Check out the garage gallery forum on GarageJournal.com.

If you are going to work on cars:

    • Thicker concrete (localized) to handle loads of two post lift
    • Vaulted ceiling to accomodate lift
    • Small (attached) shed on the back to house large air compressor
    • conceal air lines in the walls, plenty of outlets, plus hose reels on ceiling
    • tons of lights
    • tons of 110V outlets, extension cord reels on ceiling
    • 220V for compressor and welder
    • 100% solids epoxy floor or porcelain tile with 1/16" or less grout lines (epoxy grout?)
    • tons of storage so nothing will be exposed
    • well insulated walls and ceiling, air conditioning

I'd search for the Minneapolis AutoPlex and take some cues from those. Very cool garages/man caves. We're doing something similar in Columbus.

If you would like to discuss some ideas/designs I would be happy to help you out. Even if you have some ideas and looking to get something on paper to show a builder.
