Would come with some problems i would think if it were not built properly. Things that come to mind would be bugs, flooding of the basement, etc. if the basement were not sealed properly.

Every single home i have been in that has had a "basement", the "basement" was always equivalent to the main floor of the home which is why i am honestly curious..

Sorry if i sound like a noob, but will someone elaborate kindly?
Go re read his post. The basement is NOT larger than the main living space. He also stated the home is a two story home so living space would not necessarily equal basement square footage.
Don't argue with idiots...they will just bring you down to their level then beat you with experience!

the house is 3500 sq ft altogether. He mentioned the basement is 2000 sq ft. That would mean the main floor and second floor would have to be a combined total of 1500 sq ft to equate to 3500 sq ft.

Sounds like the main floor and second floor are smaller than the basement to me?

lol maybe ya think the main floor is 2000?? the second story would be 1500 and therefore totaling 3500....with a basement footprint equivalent to the first floor of 2000?? i dunno im not a contractor

Expect some distress. As a housing counselor, I make sure buyers are aware they are most likely going to have money aside for repairs.
Is there such thing as a car fiend rehab youtube.com/paul734
