Thread: Drove the Porsche 991 Carrera S today

This car in a Turbo is going to be absolutely amazing. The transmission is perfect, much better than that of my old 458. The interior is far better then the previous models. All instrumentation, seat comfort, roominess etc is greatly improved. I would still never buy a non turbo Porsche, but this car is a good indicator that the when the Turbo does come out, it is going to set the bar.

Such a beautiful car. Those shifts were so clean and the the sound is perfect! Are you going to get one?

Did this car have the Sports Performance Exhaust? I noticed it didn't have the full leather (an additional 6k!!) Did you see both and do you think it's worth it?

I opted to not get the full leather (I have the draw the line somewhere) but i'm starting to have second thoughts.

I will not be getting one, for me a Porsche must have Turbos. And when that comes, I will certainly have it. As for the full leather, I think the beige one they had did have the full leather, and if it were me, spending that much Id get the full leather.

The beige one at 1:30 does not have full leather. You can tell by the door panels as it will have an additional aluminum trim and the dash would have stitches.

I can totally understand on a turbo spending an additional 6k but on a regular carrera cab with PDK, Carrera S wheels, sports chrono, voice control, bose, I had to stop somewhere

Do you know if it had the PSE? The exhaust sounded amazing!

It did not, it had the standard exhaust and even that sounded good.

The new exhaust sounds much louder than the 997. At least the new Carrera S sounds imppressive from factory...
Interior... kind of Panamera.
Exterior... same style as the 997... doesnt show much bigger as I expected.
What will turn any gearhead dow is the rear hood and see the engine... just two small plastic fan can be seen / look like a computer and there is no accesss or view of the engine.
