    Default Turbo P-Cars and reliability

    Guys,

I've been dying to pick up a 997 Turbo but I only have about 50k cash which is about 20-30k less than low mileage Turbo is going for. I found one on ebay but it's high mileage. Should I consider it even though it's in the 70k mile range? Looks very clean and its the color I want but I don't want the headaches of major repairs right after I buy it. I would plan on putting less than 5000 miles a year on it and maybe a track day here and there..its the pdk model 2007`

In my honest opinion, I would not purchase a 997 Turbo with that much mileage on it. I would keep saving up and eventually get into one with much lower mileage. Just so you know, there is not a PDK Turbo before 2010 in the U.S. There is Automatic / Tiptronic and 6-speed Manual. Also keep in mind that the 997s will drop in price when the 991s start selling a bit more, especially once the 991 Turbos come out. I see you already have a 2010 911? What kind do you have? Won't that hold you over for the time being?

Thanks for the clarification on the pdk. I forgot about that. I have a base Carrera 6spd. I don't think selling it is an option at this point. I just hear about how these card are bulletproof so I thought I'd kick the idea around

What defines steep? My 944 had 240k miles before i lost the engine due to starvation.

The 997 has a pretty large maintenance plan for 60k correct? As long as maintenance is upheld and done on time you shouldn't have an issue, but as always thats ymmv

they are great cars but usually when you buy one like that, it is the owner ditching it for some reason unknown. if it has been taken care of, dealer is selling then it would be fine

Just took a look at it online. Looks like a very clean car, but I'd still be a little nervous about the mileage.

if you're interested in the car, call the company selling the car and see what kind o vehicle history they have on it.
