smog problem - please help
hello, i'm a new member from vallejo, california. i own a porsche 911 turbo 2003 which i purchased from a porsche dealer in las vegas 2 years ago. the car has an evom stage 2 upgrade in it. it failed the visual aspect of the smog inspection. i called evom and i was directed to this site hoping for directions on where i can bring the car for smog test. thanks in advance for any helpful info regarding my problem.

it failed a visual test. you can always do the pay method(not sure if it works in cali). visual usually means something that is supposed to be there isn't.
what's involved in the stage 2 kit?- Dave
most of what i say is a joke, unless it's serious

please explain exactly whats installed on your car.
If you have aftermarket parts and they do NOT contain a CA EO #. You need to put it back to stock, then smog the vehicle.

@92 Stealth TT I believe that the stage 2 kit consists of headers and induction kit. After all, these parts were installed by the Porsche Dealership I bought it from.
@AMS Mike The problem is that I bought the car with the aftermarket parts already installed. According to the smog technician, i have aftermarket headers and an induction kit that were installed.

well than based on what the tech said, you gotta change your headers and induction kit.
you bought the car in nevada, you live in cali. cali is special(in many ways) unless you have the carb number for those parts, it won't pass- Dave

Did it pass the sniff test? If so, there are many, many places that you could take it to that have employees with less than adequate eyesight.

go to a cheap smog shop. they won't care or know if you have aftermarket exhaust parts if the car passes the sniff test.
changing your setup back to stock would be a waste of money and time.
look on craigslist, you'll find a dinky smog shop that'll do it. there are probably some in vallejo and berkeley area.
