Guys, Please respect one another. L4P is a happy place, NOT a boxing ring.

Too many variables open up when you do that. How stout is the tune? Is it running race gas? How much horsepower does an intake and a full open exhaust add?

I've called a couple of guys and they all seem to think that the GTR with those mods should be in the 550awhp range. There is no way my 530 crank horsepower car will compete. I'll go. I'll have fun. But its just silly for the show to do this.
Hi! New guy here from NAGTROC. I came over on my own accord and am not a representative of NAGTROC, just a regular member. I read this thread/post and thought I'd try to help clarify a couple of things. I will admit his car probably makes more than 530 at the crank, but there is no way it is 550 at the wheels. He has said he has drop in filters which would imply the stock airboxes. I think he just has a turbo-back exhaust and a tune.

My GT-R has a large MAF intakes, 1000cc injectors (stock is 650), AMS FMIC with larger intercooler piping, turbo-back exhaust with one pair of high flow cats, and is tuned. It makes about 540 at the wheels. Of course, all dynos read differently. On this particular dyno a bone-stock GT-R reads about 420 awhp.

It was asked how much power the turbo-back exhaust would gain without a tune. The answer to that is about 40 awhp. However, with the increased flow, I don't know if the car will run right without being tuned.

Tblackj, thanks for coming over to NAGTROC and introducing yourself. It was said on NAGTROC that you have a 2011 Turbo S PDK. Is that correct? If so, then I don't think this will be as one-sided as has been mentioned in this thread. IIRC, you can launch at 5000 rpm! The launch control Srtsplitty has is LC2, which at best launches at 3000, and is inconsistent even in reaching that. Also, the GT-R is a bit heavier, is it not?

At NAGTROC, it was hoped that a stock 2012 could represent, but those don't even go on sale until February 2011. There really wasn't even a nomination process. We tried, but those nominated would have been unable to make the event. Srtsplitty stepped up and offered himself and his car at the last minute. No one with a stock car stepped up. Honestly, there really was no attempt to dig up a highly modified car for this challenge.

I hope this clears the air a bit. I hope you both have fun and that it truly is a gentlemen's contest.

    Brent
