There are a lot of SC's and Carrera's around but the majority of them are in pretty rough shape. Unfortunately some owners have a very inflated view of the pricing for their cars. As Pip said....pricing is very attractive for these cars right now.

I'm debating between a nice 87-89 Carrera or maybe even a 993. However, I think 993 prices are still waaaaay overinflated where as the Carrera will probably hold it's value pretty well going forward.

No luck yet in finding the car for me. Got one that I'm contemplating taking in for a PPI.

^What are you looking for? I was in the business a while back, specializing in these cars and own an SC myself. I could probably steer you in the right direction. If you want a standard, lightly optioned Carrera or SC coupe, there are plenty good ones to be had.

You're always going to find people who think their sh!t don't stink and that it's the best one on the market, but there are plenty out there to choose from.

Anyway, let me know if I can help.

I drove an 87 carrera for a day back in 87. That was a fun nice little car. No expert, but that is the year I would look at. They were very different then compared to now.

@ Drew: Nope, I just sold the 996. Got tired of worrying about catastrophic engine failure. I rarely drove it so I figured I'll get an older 911 that won't drop like a stone in value.

@Amir: Thanks for the offer. I'll send you a PM. However, in short I'm flexible. If I can find a clean Carrera or SC in good condition for a reasonable price...then I'm buying it. I've also started looking at 993 and would be willing to pay a bit more if I come across one that meets the same conditions. 993's for reasonable price is hard to find even in this economy.
