    Default Folks with Cayennes...

Can someone tell me if these SUVs are maintenance hogs?

Considering the idea of getting rid of the M and picking one up. Just dont know much about them to pull the trigger.

Any years to look out for? Any known electrical gremlins to worry about?

    Thanks

I have heard the earlier cayennes, especially the turbos, are the ones to watch out for. They have depreciated alot because of problems that they usually have.

Are you looking for new/used and what model? Had a 09 Turbo S. Only had it for 1 year. Only problem I had was tire sensors.

This is what I have noticed. The older turbos are really cheap!

the only main issue are coils and cardan shaft on early models..

i've seen a lot of cayennes over 100k miles... but if you can afford it buy it from

a pcar dealer that has been cpo'd.. usually all tsb's are done..

some issues i've seen, since 2004 from fellow members

    but are all under warranty

    healight condensation(early 03-04)
    cracked coils(03-05)
navi fiber optic cable causing lock ups..(rare)
    air suspension(rare)
    transmission seals(rare)
rear latch(fixed on 06's and above)
    rear hatch shocks
    rubber hoses check regularly
    cardan shaft(some early's)
    havent seen any turbo issues...

same guy who has a 996tt with 230k miles , have a cayenne with 180kmiles..
i guess it just have to be driven..lol
