Default Hamann turns 911 into Stallion

The Porsche 911 Turbo is almost the perfect car. Its twin-turbo 3.6-liter engine and all-wheel drive make it one of the crown jewels of the sports-car market.

But that doesn't mean tuning company Hamann Motorsport can leave well enough alone.

The German tuner--with a reputation for making some of the fastest luxury cars faster--has taken the stock 911 Turbo and created the Hamann Stallion.

The work starts at the corners, where three-piece custom wheels sit; 8.5-by-20-inch tires in front and 12-by-20-inchers out back. Hamann sport coils lower the car by 20 millimeters for improved handling.

But that is only the beginning. These Hamann folks don't mess around. Doors become scissor-style; the roof is lowered 8 centimeters, and spoilers and side skirts are added. All of this is done to give the Stallion a lower profile--and more stable high-speed road manners--before the engine gets breathed on.

The Hamann mad scientists take the powerful 480-hp H6 and squeeze out 150 more ponies, bumping its total to 630 hp. This is done with bigger turbos, a new engine-management program and a new intake and stainless-steel exhaust to round out the package.

Hamann boasts a 0-to-62-mph time of 3.3 seconds. Top speed rises to a claimed and slightly insane 223 mph.

As for the price, Hamann won't say. But if a base 911 Turbo is nearly $124,000, you know this bragging-rights work just won't be cheap.

I'm actually feeling the rear bumper. I'd do a full RS exterior conversion if I had a TT though...

I liked Hamman stuff for BMWs, specifically for the e46 and e63.

I don't think they should be touching porsche... just not their forte...

Hamman has to spoil any thing or they wont be satisfied, I need to clean those designers spectacles otherwise they will continue their visual crappy interpretation of modifying cars.
