It is funny that this thread popped up. I had to put my Turbo in the shop for some routine stuff today. The guy said he was going to give me an Audi A4. I jokingly said, "How about you let me take that 991", met with an obvious no. Then I said, "Come on, at least let me get a Panamera". He said "I can't, those are only for new warranty" (which didn't make sense to me). Anyway, he walks off, then comes back with a set of keys. I assumed they were A4 keys but he gave me this. 2012 Panamera S Hybrid. Now, it is a dang land yacht and has more buttons than an airplane and the worst visibility of any car that I have ever been in, but damn if it isn't comfortable. Pretty cool to give this to a 25 year old guy.

Lots of folks seem to be getting Panamera's as loaners. Not too shabby, I guess. It doesn't get to be fun until it's a Turbo S though. :P

These cars are leased to dealers at cost, so the monthly payment on all these Pan's to the dealer is like 80-120 dollars. So if he can get you to buy one T-Shirt from their store, it pays for one month of it's payments and that's if one person does it. However, managers take these cars homes, and don't loan them out as they should and you get Audi's.

In Tampa we have a large dealer that has bmw, porsche, audi, vw, subaru, land rover, and mas. When ever you service with them they try to put you into the same manufacture loaner. They normally have around 6 cars in the loaner fleet for each brand. When they run out they either borrow from the other manufactures or they send you to an onsite enterprise. I sent our land rover in for new wires and plugs, they gave me a brand new lr2. Really small but it had 7 miles on it.
