From a 2011 BMW 535i to a 996 GT3 as a daily driver?
Will I regret the compromise? The compromise being technology, room, and comfort.
I should mention that as of the beginning of March this year, I began to work at home and I rarely drive now. I got the BMW because I was commuting in an hour of traffic to and from work. Now the only time I drive is to run a quick errand during the day and when I go out at night, which is usually locally and no traffic.
I'm an enthusiast and want to get back to my "culture" with a 6 speed sports car which I've always had.
I have my reasons why I'm specifically choosing the 996 GT3, just want to know if it's doable as a primary car that I wouldn't be driving much anyways...Last edited by AutoEntourage.com; 05-12-2012 at 10:40 PM.

I'm a huge gt3 guy. I really don't like the 996. The 997 is years ahead of it in terms of driveability for daily comfort, not to mention quicker, sharper and better looking. They can be had for high 70s and are deffinately worth the extra 20k.

I'm a GT3 lover I also have one, but not a good option as a daily driver.

That is a HUGE change man, I mean you are going from quick, luxury BMW to a full on sport, racing beast of a ride. I think you'd enjoy adding the car to your collection but replacement...not sure if it'd be a good idea.

Forgot to mention that as of the beginning of March this year, I began to basically work at home and I rarely drive now. I got the BMW because I was commuting in an hour of traffic to and from work. Obviously it's never going to be as comfortable, but I think you already know that.

Having said that, the GT3 is an incredible car. I've never driven the 996, only the 997.1 and 997.2 GT3 (and RS), but I imagine it's not much worse.
I say do it. I doubt you'll regret it, unless you find out you needed a 4-door.

996 GT3 is the best bang for you buck hands down. It is totally doable as a daily driver as long as you (like me) prefer the rougher ride. Also getting the GT3 would cause you to change the last 6 words in the post above very quickly....
