    Now I'm hooked on strobes...for now...I think... :/

What do you think of this? For a simple, inexpensive setup. I've got studio backdrops in my apartment but I need lights. I'd also get a power pack for on location type shooting.

But for something basic, to learn and experiment on, would this be something I could work with?

Weird because the title of the product says 400watt, but the description says 200w(x2). Never used anything as weak as a 200w before. Have no idea how good they would be. You definitely couldn't overpower the sun with them though, so shooting anything outside may be difficult.

I guess it means 400 total watts. For a small studio would that be powerful enough? What power do you recommend???

I take my statement back. Doing a little research, it appears Ws is not a good indicator of flash power. Flickr: Discussing True vs Effective Watt seconds in Strobist.com

I will say I've never heard of the brand. I would almost feel more comfortable going with speedlights, rather than some no name studio strobes.

I've always liked the saying "Buy cheap, Buy twice"

As much as you can, don't go cheap on gear, It won't keep up and you'll end up spending far more money in the end.
