Camera Help
Evening all,
I'd really appreciate some help choosing a new camera as i know people on here have alot of genuine knowledge to share and i dont want to be forced into just buying the most expensive one by some douchebag at a store
Id rather a point and shoot compact, rather than a DSLR as i aim to do alot of travelling over the next year or two and i think a DSLR will be too bulky to carry around everywhere. Or is there something inbetween the two?
Id like really good picture quality and the abilty to film in HD if thats achievable, cost isn't that much of an issue but its all coming out of a travelling fund so the more inexpensive the best but without comprimising on quality
Thanks for any help and suggestions

I have a Sony NEX-5, which is an mirrorless DSLR. By removing the mirror it makes the camera a lot smaller. I had it for a year now and im really pleased with it, but there are a few cons. It's smaller than a DSLR, but it's not that small to fit in your pocket, unless you use the smallest lens Sony offers (yes, the lenses are changeable). It has many modes to help you get along with your photography and takes really good pictures, and records full HD. There is a new model out, NEX-5N.
Here's two examples i've taken with it:

If you just want a P+S why not get a good camera smart phone?
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.

I've read multiple articles that praise the new Sony.
