Default Need a Macro Lens any suggestions?

    hey guys,

So I have a Nikon D60 from a couple of years back and I am looking to buy a couple of lenses. Wide Angle and Macro. Macro being the first as I am going to use them in my work taking pictures of jewelry and would love getting into a hobby of taking car pictures as well. Anyone have any recommendations? Found this on amazon, anyone have feedback?

    Thanks

^ problem with that, you have a D60 which means that, the lens you posted a link to will not autofocus. (unless you are alright with that/ or aware already) but nikon recently came out with the new AF-S 40mm f/2.8G macro lens, you can focus on something almost hitting the glass!!!!

Going to need more mm if you are wanting to do jewelry. Probably at the minimum of 100mm. The macro lens I use, which won't help you since its Canon, but I have the Canon 100mm f/2.8 and love it.

I agree with Jeff, 100mm is recommended. I also have used the Canon 100mm f2.8 and loved it. I don't have a huge need for macro, so I sold it.

The 105 Macro is a superb lens. Costly, but worth it.

Definitely the direction that you should go with if you can swing the money. I just rented this lens and it is absolutely amazing!
