since you don't have lighting.... try to stay away from places that have a lot of dynamic range. Meaning... do not shoot in a place with shade and sun at the same time. Stay either all the way in the sun or all the way in the shade so you have more of a fighting chance to capture mode details in your high lights or your shadows.
worse time to take photos of cars is right at noon or anything close to that. Stay away from direct sunlight at those times as it will produce harsh shadows...
best time to shoot.. about an hour before sunset.. or after sunrise....
