    Default Canon 40D vs T2i

Hey guys. I'm hoping y'all can chime in here. I'm not a professional, but am trying to learn more. Most of my ubjects include my kids, cars and watches. Here's my dilemma:

After deciding on my budget, I felt like a T2i was in my price range and what I was going to buy. However, I have a good frend that is a semi-pro photog that may be looking to get rid of her 40D. Can anyone give me some things to consider in deciding between the 2. I am not sure what she will want for the 40D, but I know it will be fair. In other words, what should I get? Pros, cons of each. TIA.

Yes, IMO. I've used both and seemed to have more user friendly settings and better shots with the 40D. I'm also no professional, so others may say otherwise.

Go to snapsort.com and on the top left click the compare link, type in both cameras, and then you can see techically which one is better!

Edit: Damn he beat me to it lmao ^

    I actually have both.

The T2i is way lighter and a bit smaller. So if you plan on having the camera with you more often, then that's a plus.

If you look at specs, then the 40D is the winner... but I found that it stays at home mostly.

When I'm on the go, I'm more likely to just grab the T2i.

Honesty I'd spend the extra hundred or 2 on a 60D

But being a Nikon guy I just got my hands on my D7000 and I LOVE it, couldn't be happier.

I am also fairly new to the photo thing. I shoot mostly family, sports, and cars. I went with the T2i and I could not be hapier. It takes great pictures and is really easy to use.

What about the Canon EOS 550D? How does that one compare to the ones mentioned above?

Just realized that the T2i actually replaces the 550?!
