    Question Older gen Nikkor 50mm or Newer 50mm?

    so i recently just bought an older gen 50mm from somebody on the 4, i am wondering.. What is the difference? quality? settings?

    I have recently got a newer 50mm f/1.8 and it is amazing. Haven't hardly taken it off my body. I would pick one up sometime if you get the chance!

    no mine doesn't because I have a D40 and it doesn't have an internal focus motor. If you are to upgrade to a camera that has an internal focus motor then it will be able to focus with the older lenses.

    Yeah, i have a D60. i am trying to figure out if the lens that i got is the same quality as the new one?
