which Camera to buy
hey guys i want to buy a camera, not one of those digital ones. The ones like cooper and kirby use. Now im no professional, not even close. I just took one class of photography, so im looking for a camera thats idiot forgiving. Also I dont really know what lense to look for?
Any advice for a start up camera, It doesnt have to be the best camera, just a nice one.'
thanks,
AK

The ones Kirby and Coop use are Digital SLR or DSLR cameras. I am selling mine here on the photography forums 12K camera new Asking 2500 for it used, but doesnt come with a lens.

I was in the same boat a while back and went with the nikon d90 with a 18-200mm lens. the lens gives you a good range so as you begin to shoot more you can zero in on a something more specific to your style preference. I just took a weekend basic intensive photo workshop and learned a ton. A more expensive camera wont give you better pictures if you dont know how to use it.

buy a canon and just to let you know
lens = singular meaning one lens
lenses = plural meaning multiple lenses

back on topic... any canon camera in the current rebel series is great for starters or used 30/40D

Get any camera you feel comfortable with. Any entry level Nikon or Canon will do the trick if you're just starting out.
My saying is...Giving a bad photographer a really nice camera is like giving a blind man an Enzo...neither has a clue what to do.
I prefer to use my iPhone most of the time now.
