    Default New to photography

Hello everyone, I want to get into dSLR photography and am unsure of which camera to get? I am looking at the Nikon D3000 or D40. Any suggestions? My price range is around 600-650.

if you increase your budget a little bit, i would suggest the Canon T1i...much better camera for the money, and it shoots HD video as well!

My buddy got a D40 and has been really happy with it, great camera for someone just getting into the world of DSLR. I've got a D50 I love, however all these new DSLRs that take HD video are pretty sweet, next time I upgrade I'll be getting one with HD video.

Get a D90, you will be more happy with it but its a bit more then what your willing to spend.
