    Assuming it's not photo chopped, I've seen my father do something similar with a clear Pyrex (glass) baking pan and a light box. Set the object to be photographed on the light box (looks like some semi transparent cloth under it in this case), put the pan on top of the object, fill with ice (freeze over night if need be), soda, or whatever and shoot away...
