Thanks for the good feedback. As for tips: learn photoshop, and then make it a habit of visualising what kind of look you want for the picture - both when shooting it, and when sitting down with photoshop to edit it.
I've learned everything by myself, and I've tried my best to avoid beeing influenced by other people's work. When reading up on photoshop, I've mostly read about general ways of editing a picture and studied sites dealing with the general booring kind of photography (with flowers, mountains, sunsets and shit
) Don't look at the objects they're working with, but focus on the techniques instead.
I havn't got a set way of working with my photos, except I set myself a goal as to how I want the picture to look, and work towards achiving it. And most of all: I don't care what's concidered "right" and "wrong" in photography. I shoot what I like, how I like and edit them how I like them too look.
A good example is a picture I took of an turbo charged infinity g20 (think that's what they're called in the US?). It's a picture I get a lot of "don't like it / too much noise / lacking color" feedback on. But still it's one of my personal favourites, because it took a lot of work to create it, and it came out looking just as I wanted:
