How you did it. Photography reference thread.
Saw this somewhere a while back and learned a LOT from it. Figured I would start one here as we have a LOT of talent that far excedes mine. New guys learn from it alot as well.
Simply post a shot, and then details on how you did it. Equipment, Settings, Editing, Location, ect.
Ill start:

Location: Knob Noster State park, Missouri
Time: Noonish
Equipment:
Canon 7D
Sigma 10-20
CP Filter
Wired trigger
Custom boom, Two 4' lengths
Two Manfrotto Avenger cups
Two Super Clamps
Extended Clamp
Magic Arm
Settings:
F/22
Shutter Speed: 2.5Sec
ISO: 100
Focal: 10MM
Positioned cups on tail of car. Used the extended clamp to lean the rig at an angle behind the car.
The shot:
Car was on a downhill slope so with the car OFF I had a friend sit in the car and feather off the parking brake to alow the car to roll SLOWLY. NOT much speed it needed.
Editing:
Removed the rig first via Mask and Clone. Had to do a minor bit of Reconstruction. Not perfect, however not noticed by the average viewer. Also dont forget to removed reflections of the rig on the car.
Next I cut and masked the treeline from a static(non moving shot) and faded it into the motion treeline to give more sense of season and surrounding.
Bumped the sharpness a bit and warmed the shot.
Static shot with rig:

Feedback welcome, any other tricks as well. Feel free to post your own shots and info!DOWNSHIFT FLOORIT | TheChazz.com - Freelance Photographer

Cool shot and wonderful idea for a thread. I wouldn't even consider myself an amateur photographer b/c, for one, I do not have proper equipment but I do enjoy learning how some of this is done. I'll check back regularly. Always love seeing informative threads on this site.

Great idea for a thread, I can't even count how many photographs I've stopped and wondered how they did it. As much as I would love to see pro's on here explaining how they did it, I don't think we will. Mainly because if everyone told their secrets, then everyone would be pro, and that just would create problems.

I'll play.
The assignment for the class was to capture something moving but it couldn't be a car because that's just too easy. So I made my own movement while standing. It's done by zooming in or out right after pushing the shutter button. Works best with subjects that converge to a center point but if you play around with it the technique can be used for other things as well. Only works with zoom lenses FYI.

haha! I was just playing with that a week or so ago!

Shots I get a lot of feedback on:

Most of the "Look" Comes from the Shallow DOF provided at 50mm and F/1.4. The editing touched off these details.
Location: Warrensburg, Missouri at my delux Doublewide (Stationed at a base here)
Time: 2-3PM ish
Equipment:
Canon 7D
Canon 50MM Prime F/1.4
CP Filter
Freehand
No Flash
Settings:
F/1.4
Shutter Speed: 1/320Sec
ISO: 100
Focal: 50MM
The shot:
Brand new model, only her second shoot (Both with me and in total). Try to keep positive friendly conversation to give the model a comfort. She was comfortable with her body and confident which helps greatly. Give them an example of a simple pose, and carefully watch as they fall into position. Most times the best shots and looks will be candid as they actually attempt to re-create the pose you show.
Editing:
First cleaned up a few more noticeable debris/leaves around her feet with the spot heal tool. Cleaned minor skin marks like moles/big bites. She had a perfect body, so no alterations were required. Dropped the Vibrance in Lightroom, bumped contrast, added a little vignette(as I do almost all of my shots). Also Warmed up the first and cooled the second shot.DOWNSHIFT FLOORIT | TheChazz.com - Freelance Photographer

Amazing Lotus shot!
I will try to match it - unfortunately I have no idea how my photographer took this shot of my Lotus, other than the fact that he was hanging out of the trunk in my M5 driven by my friend.
