    Very nice pics seems like professional photographer. I can't even depend how many pictures I've ceased and considered how they did it. As much as I would really like to see professionals on here describing how they did it, I don't think we will. Mainly because if everyone informed their methods, then everyone would be pro, and that just would lead to further issues.

    Nothing crazy but I wanted to contribute. The photo ended up being made from around 8 or 9 images. Each car was lit using two AB800's and also shot with two different polarizer settings (one for the side and one for the top/glass) then layered together in photoshop. The before image is what I used as a base.

    Great idea for a thread! Here's my contribution.

    Before

    After

    Camera - Nikon D5100
    Lens - Sigma 10-20mm
    Exposure - 0.02 sec (1/50)
    Aperture - f/4.5
    Focal Length - 13 mm
    ISO Speed - 320

    Editing:

    * Used Clone Stamp Tool to edit out light reflection on hood

    * Car
    - Cut out the car using the Polygonal Lasso Tool
    - Brightened up this layer using Image > Adjustments > Levels
    - Slightly adjusted color using Image > Adjustments > Selective Color
    - Slight sharpen using Filter > Sharpen > Uhsharp Mask

    * Background
    - Darkened by using Image > Adjustments > Curves
    - Lowered saturation or greens and yellows Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
    - Brought out the blue in the sky using Image > Adjustments > Selective Color
    - Sharpen using Filter > Sharpen > Uhsharp Mask
    - Used the Gradient Tool for a black to transparent fade at the bottom of the image

    I think that's all I did...

    ^^ I've been wanting to do this for a while now. Next time i go to a dark sky site il defiantly try it. Lastly did you "light paint" or just let the flash do its thing?

    VW Golf by CaseyBoylePhotography, on Flickr

    This one was alot of photoshop. Did a bit of airbrushing on the hood and grabbed the background off google images. added some clouds as smoke added a bit of lense flare for the headlights and configured the lighting to match.

    Aside from concepting ideas for photos and then attempting to figure out HOW to do it, my favorite part of photography is actually teaching. My personal blog is almost nothing but how to's and how I dids. lol Here is one of the more recent ones. I don't know if this ever made it on my blog.

    Setup for Paint - 2 Lights, lowest power setting on Einsteins. ISO 800

    To summarize, I stretched a water balloon over a small speaker. Tempura paint was applied to the top of the water balloon membrane. The speaker was plugged into my computer and I then used Garage Band's keyboard to play various sounds. I had a sound trigger hooked up to my Camera Axe system, which then triggered my camera to fire as soon as the sound was made. I think I had a delay of .024 seconds for my flashes to fire, which then allowed enough time for the paint to shoot off the speaker. There was a lot of experimenting with both different sounds and delays.

    Setup shot for headphones - 4 Lights. Headphones taped to piece of glass.

    I then taped the actual headphones to a pane of glass and oriented the wires in a way that looked pleasing to me. Once that was photographed it was just a matter of compositing the photos together.
