Default Best Point and Shoot Currently? (7/4/12)

I'm beginning my search for a very good point and shoot. I'm by no means a big photo guy, but appreciate the art of it all. I just don't need another expensive hobby is the reality.

With that, my general criteria are:

    - As large sensor as possible
    - Small, pocketable would be nice, but wife's purse without being huge would be more likely.
    - Decent FPS, good burst mode would be sufficient most likely.
    - 1080p video capability

    Camera's on my radar:

    Canon S100
    Nikon 1
    Canon G12 / or G1X
    Fuji X10

As of today, I discovered the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100. I think this is my first choice at this point.

Thoughts from those of you who have much more understanding of this hobby than me?

If you can swing it, the Fuji X100 is superb. This is Luxury4Play, you know.

The X10 is good as well, but my economical money goes to the Canon S100IS. Really superb. If you want to spend more money for a bigger camera the Canon G1X packs a ton of sensor in a small body.

The X100 is out of my range. I was initially hoping to spend $400+/-, however I realized it may be too little for my criteria. $650 is probably my max.

If my research is accurate(camera is too new to have a lot of owner reviews), I'd slot the Sony DSC-RX100 between the S100 and the G1X? If so, it may be the balance I want.

    Here's what you need:

    Lumix GF2

    1080i @ 60 fps
    Full HD Video
    12 MP 4/3 Sensor.
This is what I'd get. Hands down. And it's because of the Pricing & Quality. You get more than what you pay for.

Looks to be an old model? There are a couple new options on their site that seem nice.

Sony Cyber shot DSC RX100 is great camera. But I dont have enough money to buy that so I buy a Nikon D800.
