    Default Who's From Portland?

As much as I love Arizona and the heat, my wife hates it. So, next spring before it gets hot again, we'll be making a move to Portland. Just looking for some feedback from the people that live there on the pros and cons of the city.

Everything I've seen on TV and read about it sounds great and I'm getting more and more excited about it as time gets closer.

    Thanks in advance.

Just moved here myself, its a pretty laid back town, very chill and lots of brew and good food.

Not in Portland but close. I make it to Portland at least once or twice a week though. Not many cons other than weather (at least for me) that I can think of. Fairly busy town but still laid back and plenty of things to do. I'm sure you'll like it.

Why is that? I've heard a lot of good things about the place but not too many bad things, although they're both a matter of opinion. I'm still interested though.

Lived here my whole life, and while there are definitely some things I don't like (bikers, politics and the drivers), I couldn't see myself living anywhere else full time other than maybe the bay area. If you're into food and booze, it's pretty tough to find a more consistant city. I think it's harder to find a bad place to eat than it is a great one. Then there's the food carts (CNN rank pdx as number 1 in world), as well as all the microbrew and small batch distrilleries. Plus you're an hour away from the beach in one direction, and an hour away from the mountain in the opposite. I have literally skied in morning and surfed in the afternoon before.
