Fundraising and promoting local businesses
Hey Everyone!
I am helping raise money for the 2010 Relay for Life. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
I’m asking for businesses to help support me and the American Cancer Society. In exchange for your donation, I am willing to promote your business during the 24-hour Relay in Salem. I’m going to have a total of 14 business logos screen printed on my jeans. I will be wearing these jeans during the entire 24-hour event and maybe around town for kicks.
• A total of 8 logos will be printed below the knee, $10 donation.
• A total of 6 logos will be printed above the knee, $20 donation.
L4P is the first to donate, claiming a spot above the knee.
PM me for more details to have your business promoted during the Relay.
Below is a short story of my experience.
I am a 4 year cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with testicular cancer during my freshman and sophomore years of high school. I have had surgery and chemotherapy. I had to have emergency surgery to remove my left testicle because there were two tumors on my epididymis. The pain I experience while I had those two tumors was incredibly unsettling; I could not keep any food in my stomach and walking more than two steps was unthinkable. It was like having a cannon ball strike you where it hurts most. Not only physical, the knowledge of knowing you are flawed and knowing you might never pass on your DNA was draining. The overwhelming agony pushed me to make instant decisions to have my left testicle removed without second guess. Looking back, chemotherapy feels like another lifetime, short and crushing. About a week after my 16th birthday, I was called into the doctor’s office and delivered the news… I had cancer. Those three words, I had cancer, freezes time. Your mind stops, it goes blank, you try to put it into perspective but you cannot grasp the world you have walked into. I had a PICC line installed in my left arm, which is how I received chemotherapy. I was never ready for the glacier ahead: nausea, back pains, mouth sores, exhaustion, sensitivity to temperature, and weakness. Only listing some of my pains does not do my body justice. I experienced these reactions for months and some for years. I remember having nightmares of pain because I knew the next day was going to be worse, more chemotherapy. The only way I stayed rooted was my friends. I had a small teddy bear reminding me my friends were there to support me. Now, 4 years after, I struggle to tell what happened to me during my treatment, and some of my memories remain blocked.
I will say this, having cancer transformed my perception of the world. This is why I support the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Please donate and help support the future.

Thanks!
The main point is to raise money for the American Cancer Society. You could ask 10 people for a dollar and donate the 10 dollars
I decided to add the promotional part because who doesn't need advertising, and it is suppose to be fun. I'm paying for the screen printing, which isn't cheap. I'm pitching this to L4P first to help the community.
You could join a team in your area
