Just got back from Mt Bachelor - love the NW
I just got back from a ski trip to Bend, Oregon/Mt. Bachelor. I had never traveled to the American Northwest before.
I just wanted to say that you NW forum folks live in a beautiful part of the country and I am truly awed at the spectrum of climates you guys have access too. If the weather were right, you could surf and snowboard in a single day!! I am jealous.
The Cascades were beautiful and Mt. Bachelor was a really fun mountain. Bend Oregon is a really cool town with alot of character.
Just wanted to come in here and brag on ya'lls area

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Of all the ski trips I have been on, there is something about Bachelor/Bend that will always be my favorite.

Love Bend and Mt. Bachelor.
In fact, my family spent Christmas there a few weeks. My kids had never seen snow. Although it was tough to make a snowman because the snow there is so dry and powdery... great for skiing though.
Bend is def a great city.Time is a container... Fill with quality!

glad you had fun and enjoyed the NW!
Events throughout ones life don't build character, they reveal it.

It is certainly a unique ski/snowboard experience.
I have skied all over Colorado (and love Colorado) but Mt. Bachelor was cool because:
(1) the altitude (even at the summit) was low so I didnt have the down time while I acclimated,
(2) It can be blizzard conditions on the mountain, but the weather remains niceat the hotel in Bend due to the drastic elevation change between the two places despite the shor distance between them, and
(3) the "mountain passes" are alot more accessable due to the lower elevation so you dont have to have snow tires/chains to get to the Mountain in winter.
