Default What to do in NYC?

Going to NYC this weekend. Any recommended bars, restaurants, landmarks worth seeing that are not often included in travels guide? Tips and advices? Staying at World Center Hotel outside WTC. I've been to NYC few times but never for more than a day.

    Thanks.

I'm one of the driving instructors/assistant track managers there. Let me know if I can be of any help or when you're coming up!

My advice is just walk around. Dont take pictures with Elmo in Times Square. And dont buy anything someone might be selling on the street. Just walk around and you'll find millions of things to do.

    2. Brooklyn Bridge Park, you wont be disappointed, steps away from the pizzeria with the most beautiful views of NYC, (I attach a picture taken at night from that spot)
    3. Time Square at 4am, best chance to be the only human there, lol
    4. McSorley's Old Ale House, 15 East 7th St. they only serve two kinds of beer, light or dark, oh and did I mention they make it there too!? yea! over 150year history, opened in 1854 great place to see the history of NY and enjoy a good beer with your friends
    5. Central Park! epic spot to enjoy lunch and enjoy the beautiful weather

there is plenty of restaurants, and Bars, it all depends on what you like,

    ^^all great choices...especially Girmaldis lol

Tell us a little more of what you want to do...prefer Bars/lounge? Clubs? Hookah? Activity (SPIN GALATIC comes to mind if your into PING PONG mixed w/ Alcohol) Cigars?

some places that quickly come to mind:

    Area: Union Square...
Places: The Belmont Lounge, Coffee Shop, Bluewater Grill...there is a handful of places in the area just walk around and there is always people in the area @ all hrs of the night

    Area: SOHO....
Places: Ear Bar (on Spring St. & motorcycle night on Tuesdays you can drink outside b/c inside is small but food is great)

Caņa (right next door to Ear Bar, great on Saturday nights if your into Spanish Rock & South American women)

Spring St. is one of those streets you can walk up and down and find many places On it & around the area

If your into CIGARS check out MACANUDO....IIRC its on 67 & Park...

If you into Hookah there are tons of places in the area of ALPHABET SOUP...avenue A, B, C, D...most of the ones I've been too are on Ave B but can't remember their names we usually just hop around if we are in the area which reminds me that we were walking down St. Marks Place the other night and stumbled upon "THE BELGIAN ROOM" belgian beer bar, great belgian brews on tap....

sorry for the ramble but I just said places that quickly came to mind but like others have said, just walking around you'll find a ton of awesome places.....

what days are you here specifially? Alone or w/ friends/wife/gf? Lately the wife & I have been heading alot into the city so maybe we can meet up for a drink...

also if you have an "App" phone I advise downloading the map of the subway system but for short jaunts & late night trips (no traffic) taxi's work great
07 Honda Element (work vehicle & DD)
    08 E92 M3 IB/FR (DD & trackduty)
    11 F25 X3 AW/CN (wifes)
    98 Ducati Monster 900 (streetbike)
    01 Suzuki SV650s (trackbike)

Thanks for the great responses! I'm going with my buddy and our gf's. Decided against taking gt-r and vette so taking his GLK since driving and parking in nyc is a bitch, I hear.

Not really into cigars or hookah.

The only club in nyc that I've been to is Pacha but this Friday there's a no pants party which I'm not too keen on attending. Perhaps Saturday would host some different party. We love house music although going to some nice lounge would be nice as well.

What is the best way to transport in the city? In Boston we have a duck tour buses, which take you around the most interesting spots in the city. Is there such a thing in NYC? Like I said, we are staying right outside WTC so getting to times square would take some time by foot.
