I'm sorry, but that's like saying Pink has deep lyrics and all. She also has her niche and just tries to sell records with targeting all those borderline girls and shit. That's all just great Marketing. And as far as the Samy record goes, it was pretty much the same. Production and all were already on something different and those who were into really good German Rap (weird to say, since I mostly hated it) knew it was mainly produced for the Mainstream. If you want good German rap with a message you have to go a little further back than 10 years. It's the same development like in the States. You had great Hip Hop back in the early 90s like Advanced Chemistry (then later on Toni L, Torch), Stieber Twins, Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt back when Moses P made some good music and so on and forth. If you want to take it a step back, then get real back.

Then Sammy and Afrob, Azad and Kool Savas started rocking NBA Jersey and were driving big ass sedans as well and pretty much copied the American Gangsta Crap, later on evolving to Bunker and from that point on to Sido, Bushido, Fler and all that crap.

Of course you had also some great stuff with Blumentopf and Fünf Sterne Deluxe in between and a whole lot of stuff I didn't mention as well.

I'm well aware of everything you said and I dont disagree. All I am saying is, mainstream or not, this song is at least one of, if not the best german rap song ever publicized. The fact that it was main steam produced makes it even better, for what it is at least. Compare nowadays mainstream bullshit to mainstream stuff 10 years ago. Quiet a difference. Mainstream wasnt always bad.
