    Default The Marilyn Manson Thread

Who out there listens to Marilyn Manson on a regular basis?

It's not everybody's type of music but i like to listen whenever i feel like exploring a different type of thinking.

    He's a very smart man:

“When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed.”

And he really believes in encouraging people to be themselves no matter what others may think of them. Look at how he dresses for instance. The vast majority of the population would be appalled to see him in public. But that's him, and he's not afraid to be who he is.

Why do you listen to Marilyn Manson? What's your favorite song?

    I'll Start:

A pill to make you numb, A pill to make you dumb, A pill to make you anybody else..

Rock is dead is my fav, but he has a lot of good ones. Manson is perfect when your in a shitty mood. Never knew he was a good painter till much later. I really under-estimated him.

I have a lot of his stuff on my iTunes and it shows that I have listened to this one the most.

But I love this song and video!

I always listen to MM in the gym.. best workout songs. Mobscene, disposable teens... awesome music to pump to. Coma White is his best song imo, just not in the gym. The guy is definitely a weirdo but im a big fan of his music.

some of the shortest and best concerts i've been too have been manson, as far as songs go I would have to go with reflecting god, and the covers he does, i do prefer his music when he's angry, but it's all good

I like some of his music, most of the stuff that gets/got radio play and I like his covers.

But aside from his music, I think he is brilliant and I really like Marilyn Manson the person. He is very intelligent, well spoken, and has a great wit. I love his sarcasm and they way he is not afraid to take on the media, religion, etc. He is also as brilliant at marketing his image as Madonna. Get the parents to hate you and the kids will buy even more albums. Brilliant!

One of my favorite moment of his is the interview he gave regarding the Columbine Tragedy for Michael Moore' "Bowling for Columbine":

During the interview with Michael Moore, Manson was asked, "If you were to talk directly to the kids at Columbine and the people in the community, what would you say to them if they were here right now?", to which he replied, "I wouldn't say a single word to them — I would listen to what they have to say, and that's what no one did."
