New Metallica - Thumbs Up or Down???
Anyone hear the track "the day that never comes" from Metallica's new Death Magnetic album? Love the ending, just the instruments jamming. Not so sure about the first half though.
Keeping my fingers crossed it's a better album than St Anger.

Haven't heard it yet...but going by their last couple records...i'd say...thumbs down.
I'm holding out hope though. A couple days ago I had an itch to hear some Metallica. Made a CD and I've been jamming to that for the past day or so. The stuff they did with the symphony was awesome!

The beginning of that opening riff is literally the first thing I ever learned to play on the guitar!

I'm going to give that a Big Thumbs Up! It's no Ride The Lightning but if I want to hear that I'll grab that CD. I just really respect that they continue to grow as Musicians. They're so dynamic and talented, I have a hard time playing guitar and chewing gum at the same time and these guys can go and Rip with the San Fransisco Orchestra totally in time, I think that's probably one of the most challenging things you could do as a musician.
I will say I prefer their guitar tones a bit thicker, like this, from St. Anger.

Just heard the new stuff on the radio. Sounds way better turned up on some speakers that are better than the ones on my computer.
