Had a chance to sit on this bike at the NY motorcycle show this year. Surprisingly upright forward lean angle (for a supersport) in the low 30s. Really beautiful as well and seemingly well crafted. But there's only 1 dealer in the NY/NJ/CT area I believe, which is definitely worrying as far as service goes, especially for an Italian bike that's surely going to break down from time to time. Definitely going to look into it soon, but the 848 Evo is very likely going to win out.

I'm trying to determine what to replace my R6 with, right now I have my sights fixed on a 1199 Panigale but I think I'm going to wait it out for a year so they can sort out small issues that they been having. The F3 is a really work of art and has decent performance to go with it, but I think you may get more bang with your buck going with the 848 EVO. I guess I need to test ride both to make a decision.

I think you're right about the wait, they just recalled a bunch of 1199 with some minor problems. I was looking at the 1199 as well (not S model), though I think the 848 is better value and a better looking bike. I did however have a chance to ride the BMW RR on a track in NJ when I took a class with the California Superbike school and it was absolutely stunning. I think it's hideous comparing to the Ducati but an amazing machine nevertheless , so it's really making me think twice now about what to get.
