Ducs are great, but be prepared to buy a mechanic friend dinner or have some familiarity in regards to wrenching on it. BMW vs. Aprilia vs. Kawasaki. The BMW will win the figures game (software vs. price vs. horsepower). I'm biased towards the Aprilia, which I feel technology wise might be the most prefered (and documented as most preferred in regards to comparing the TCs that are out there). Kawasaki's just like swinging a hammer (as long as we're talking pipe + ecu).

I'm very familiar with wrenching on the Duc's; so as far as that goes it's taken care of. I do not want any of the current generation Ducati's on the market because the Panigale is just that sexy IMO. I just want to wait for that bike to have a year or two into production (compare shootouts etc...) before I jump on one. I am very impressed with the Aprilia but I am not familiar at all when it comes to wrenching on them. Also, I question the resale value if I offload an RSV-4 in a year or two. The BMW's seem to still be fetching good money with pretty significant miles. At this point I'm leaning toward the S1K but the Aprilia is a VERY close second.
