Anyone have experience with Hyosung bikes?
Hyosung has been building bikes in Korea since the late 1970's. They have also done a lot of development with Suzuki and their 650's use the same V-twin as the Suzuki SV650.
I'm considering the Hyosung GT250 for my wife as a starter bike. It is a standard style and I like it because it seems to be the only 250 with electronic fuel injection and front and rear disc brakes. Plus the price is good at $3500 new.
Anyone have experience with this bike or the Hyosung line in general?
Thanks!

i don't have any experience personally, but the local triumph/ ducati dealer started selling them. the redesigned model looks good and he said that their quality has improved alot over the years. not sure how it'll hold it's retail value tho.

I've been doing a lot of research looking for the right bike to buy for myself when ready. I've been paying attention for about 2 years now reading reviews and the Hyosung has actually come up a lot because of it's price. The bike itself and the dynamics are pretty good. The problem comes down to build quality. A lot of the reviews made it a point to mention that during really quick rough riding you could feel the cheapness of the bike. They also made it a point to mention that things like the paint and the overall finish of the materials are just no good. Actually in a couple of the UK reviews on MCN the guys at the end of their test ride were saying the paint actually began to peel and they had had the bike for like 2 days. Hope that helps. You can use MotorcycleUSA and MCN for some pretty good reviews.

My local dealer has stopped selling them because of the never stopping problems he had with them. I got one as a loaner once and thought it was crap. But that was the 650 model, don't know about the 250 though I wouldn't buy them.
