    Default Motorcycle insurance

How much do you guys pay ... if you don't mind sharing.

Pretty much I posted a thread a couple months ago saying that i am buying a motorcycle and which would be a great first bike. Well it seems like the right time and I am going to go pick up a used ninja 250r or maybe new still looking on some more options.

Anyhow I just got a quote from progressive for 75 dollars year.

should I add something else to it ... I got great health insurance which covers everything pretty much. And since it only is a 3k bike I am not sure if it is worth really getting damage coverage. The price still seems well a tad low cause I am paying 1.5k a year for car and this is for a bike ...

I used progressive for my motorcycle insurance. They seemed to have the best rates. The amount of coverage to carry is up to you. I personally only carried the minimum because I never left it parked anywhere but the garage. But the collision may be worthwhile. Unfortunately others won't always see you.

makes sure your health covers 2 wheeled vehicles. I got screwed (well I screwed myself by not reading) on that once. I had a health insurance that, at the time, I thought had all the bells and whistles also.

if you are a home owner...its a bit easier to insure your bike through the same carrier as your home. otherwise it gets to be a hassle it it gets taken from your house....so I have heard. i

rule of thumb...always get the most insurance that you can afford but full comp insurance on a sportbike is just crazy for anyone under 30. most are as much as the cost of the whole bike. per year. I only did full coverage back in the day just to get the medical. now I only get liability through my home owners ins carrier on the cheap bikes...and collectors on the bikes that are one-offs or race bikes.

I've got two cars, renters insurance (I think it's $50k) and motorcycle insurance. I think I figured out that the bike is less than $350/year.

It's an old 2002 Ducati 748 and I haven't had a ticket to speak of in about 4 years....before that I got literally dropped by State Farm.

Didn't believe it until they refunded by pro-rated yearly premium.

    Bundle when you can!

jut realized you have a 250r, that's a reasonable rate.
