    Default Honda 919.....Thoughts???

I'm in the market for a motorcycle, and I have been looking at a few Honda 919s. I'm looking for a naked bike that will be sporty enough to have fun on, but comfortable enough to take on some longer rides/trips. I have ridden monsters, specifically the S2R and the 620. I like both a lot, but looking for something that will have a lower operating cost. I honestly hadn't even thought of the 919 until my uncle mentioned it. I have been reading about them in all the different forums and it doesn't look like people really have many bad things to say about the bike. I rode one the other day, but for a very short time, so I didn't get much feel for it. I was curious if anyone on the 4 has had them or ridden and what their thoughts are.

    Thanks a lot!

I had the same thoughts about this bike. It looks sporty without the "you gotta lie down to ride me" position that most of the sport bikes have. I don't know where you are located but southernpowersports in Chattanooga, TN had a few of them. Southernpowersports is by far the most reasonable place I have found. OOPS! Just saw you are in portland, kinda kills the "roadtrip" idea. LOL

I've been riding a heavily modified one for 6 years. Bought it for the reasons stated and the cafe racer look on an I4. I absolutely love mine and would never get rid of it. It has an on board computer to tune and manage your maps. It runs on any octane because of the maps. I've been riding for 20+ years and this is my favorite all around bike. I have mine tuned to 147 rwhp and 155 rwtq... it's a beast to me. I wail on most bikes in a straight line and I'm sitting up. The weakness of the 919 is the suspension but once you tune the suspension to yourself most of the lacking will disappear.

    I love mine.
