You haven't actually priced out motorcycle financing, I'm guessing. It instantly turns any good deal into a really terrible one...hello 25% APR! If you get a loan via your credit union on a bike, you're still looking at well over 10%. As others have said...don't.
Also, in NYC, you need to have 1000000% of your sh^t in order. You will be pulled over on sight by NYPD; they'll be looking for the sticker on your fork, license/reg/insurance, and they'll write you a ticket for "no eye protection" if they catch you riding with your visor up. IMO, you shouldn't finance a bike. With that said, I have probably the nicest 2009 R1 you've seen! It's yours for $9300 w/ helmet and jacket! Title in hand, 800miles yellow/black
