    Default Vintage Bikes/ Cafe Racers

Are any of you into vintage bikes and cafe racers? I really like the styling and I enjoy looking at the roots of things. I am interested in buying one, do you guys have any idea where I can get more info on it?

The Suzuki GS or the Honda CB from the late 70's are a great place to start. If you're looking for a project, you can find a super cheap bike to work on. Parts are available at a lot of online stores, and there is a huge knowledge base on some of the message boards.

    I love old bikes.

If anyone is in Michigan, an awesome shop just opened up in Depot Town Ypsilanti named Cafe Racer where they build custom to order vintage racer bikes. It's an awesome shop worth going down to visit if you ever in the area. There is an awesome car storage for an auction collector around the corner too, open during weekdays.

I am building a cafe bike:

    My Cafe Project:

Well... I was building one. It has pretty much just sat in my garage for the last 6 months with the motor in the frame waiting on me to finish the wiring.

YES! I'm glad someone made a thread about this. I have just been getting into this idea recently and would really like to get more into it. I love the look of these bikes and they would keep me from doing stupid stuff IE wheelies and whatnot. The unfortunate thing is my parents said they would stop paying for college if I buy a bike so I'm kinda SOL

Have you told yourself that enough times that you actually believe it is true? Juvenile behavior transcends bike classifications (I can personally attest to that).

Well, if you can afford to buy a bike, maybe you should be paying for your own college.

well I mean I have seen old Hondas for like 2k and it would mean I didnt have to drive my WRX everywhere. Thing gets like 20 mpg on a good day so that would be nice. But yeah, I cant see myself doing wheelies down the highway but I would love to just cruise some mountian roads around Boulder on a bike. As far as the college goes though, I think my parents would rather me not be financially effed paying back student loans so that one day I can pay them back in my own time (IE buy dad that Cali Spyder he's always wanted )

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but I do know of a Ducati MHR & a Laverda SFC 1000 that are available.

I think I am looking for a CB, RD, or something of that nature. Something from the 70s and relatively easy to work on. I have never worked on bikes before, except for oil changes on my quad. But I am pretty handy, just need something to practice on and work on.
