Bent both wheels from hitting a pot hole
I was heading up North on my R6 and somehow I missed a pot hole on road, now I have two bent wheels. I just ordered $700 worth of wheels for the bike, not exactly cheap, and day before I spent $250 for tires, so the expenses are really adding up now. From experience, do you guys know if I can get compenstation for damages from NY/CT? It was on the border of both NY/CT (more on NY side)
I'm bummed , just got the bike.

That sucks.
A guy I used to know hit a pot hole at speed around Detroit on his Duc 996. It completely fubar'd his rear shock and put his rear tire up into his C/F cans.
He turned it in to his insurance, and took photos of the pot hole. I think the insurance company was dealing with MDOT.
In any event, the insurance covered it and he got a nice set of Titanium Termi's, some Marchesini 10 spoke wheels and a Ohlins rear shock.
Luckily he didn't lose it and had time to brace for it.
Hope you can get taken care of!--> Joe C. <--

Ouch that kinda damage and you didn't lose it? Very lucky!
Submit to insurance and have them attempt to receive compensation. I highly doubt they will but its better to let them handle it.East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',

For the time being I have liability coverage for the bike, should i change my coverage to comprehensive and then file a claim? Lesson learned for next time, 1. Dont ride in NY 2. Get full coverage.

I'm sure you could but thats unethical in a lot of books. The insurance may also drop you if you file a claim immediately.
Even with insurance you might still be out $500 or w/e your deductible is. How much are new wheels? I can't see the tires being bad unless they ruptured.East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',

The wheels both front and back OEM came to $730 shipped, the current tires don't have much meat left on them, I already ordered a set of Pilot powers. Once the impact happened, the tires started to lose air to a point where they went completely flat, managed to pull to the side and have them inflated and so far they have been holding air.

Glad to hear you didnt lose it. I'm not sure how it works in NY but hopefully the same as WA here you just take a picture of the pothole and file there claim form and they send yea a check back 3 to 4 weeks later. As for submitting this for insurance I think it would fall under collision and count as an accident so not the best thing to do but make sure and ask your agent about that.
