Im from your area. That gixxer is a decent deal, depending on the damage.
I personally never took a course and got a cbr600rr but I have been riding dirt bikes my whole life. I plan on stepping it up next year. But 600 is a lot, and in no way have I mastered it.
Got to respect the bike, know your limits. Don't do stuff just because your buddies are. If you mess up riding you can die, you can literally die or screw your self up for life.
Buy something you won't regret dropping, because theres only two riders, ones that have gone down, and ones that are going to go down. My as well go down on a shittier first bike.
PRS is a great school, probably the best in BC though.Fa$tLife
