Thread: Any runners around Chicago?

Just got back into running last fall, have done 3-4 races since and looking to do more. I'm running at the 5k - 8k distances right now (would also consider 10k) and wanted to know if anyone knows of any runs coming up in the next few months that are still open. I'm in the near north burbs (Glenview) but I'll pretty much go anywhere around Chicago.

Not sure about Chicago but check out the Rock N Roll marathon series. They do events all over. I ran the one in San Diego and I liked how they organized everything.

Thanks. Even a 1/2 marathon is a bit over my limit right now though.

I'm really trying to get better at the shorter stuff 1st then push my distance. Screw accomplishment of just finishing, if I'm not a top 10% finisher in any race its major FAIL to me. My 1st timed 5k last September was appx 28 min and change. My last and best timed one at the end of February was a 21:30 so I probably won't be happy till I crack 20min which is my goal before the end of the year. Once I do that I'll consider upping my distance.

We do fun run 5k's every month and then some larger races all the way up to the Chicago marathon to help benefit the American Heart Association. I can get you some exact dates if you're interested. Here is a recap from the first fun run!
