    Default MGM in Detroit

I'm heading out to the MGM in Detroit for a bachelor party in early September, I've never been to Detroit or the MGM there and was looking for some insiders advice on where to go to eat, party, sightsee etc.

Also since this is my cousin I want to try and do something special and was thinking about trying to get a killer room (we are going mid week) and was seeing if anyone might know a hookup I could speak with about booking a killer room.

MGM is by far the best casino in the D, Im pretty sure there is a few penthouse suites there also. I would say head over to Hockeytown Cafe, Chelis Chili grab a Tigers game while your right there to.

I met the VP of incentive sales for MGM on a plane from chicago back home a few months ago. Let me shoot her an email and see if I can get you a hook up.

Best thing to do is go to a Tiger game.

Cheli's and Hockeytown are good sports bar with rooftop decks.

I have never been able to get a good price at MGM. But their rooms are the best in the state. It is the place to go for partying on weekends.

There is always greektown, and there are some nice bars downtown. But the city is a shithole.

On friday/saturday night, head north on Woodward for a great car scene.

Yes, eat at Slows BBQ on Michigan Ave. One of the best BBQ joints anywhere. Food is amazing!

    I'd say less than that.

Don't leave downtown, and that is just the highly frequented areas. Hang out around the Casino, Comerica Park, and near there; you'll be fine. But don't wander too far from those as it gets sketchy, quick.
