    Anyone feel that at like 4 am

    i wonder if any buildings are structured for quakes out there like they are here in CA?
    (lots of 'brick' in IL)

    It is vital that we work to a few golden rules. Always work in a small team. Keep a very low profile. Only deal with people who come recommended. And it's like selling anything else: washing machines, hand made shoes, blowjobs. As long as you don't take the piss people will always come back for more. And that is not to say we don't have that special kind of magic that makes two kilos into three. But never be too greedy.

    I know in OK we are not prepared in the least for an earthquake.. Everything here is brick..

    Newer (and most older) buildings are designed for seismic. The degree of seismic forces to which they're designed for vary with geographic location obviously. But, long story short, yes, buildings are designed for seismic. I'm a structural engineer.

    Well, if I recall IL lies on one of the most potentially violent fault lines.
