The L train will take you within a few blocks of wherever and its real cheap. Taxi cabs are plentiful. I have an ipass so tolls are a non issue.........however if you follow close enough behind someone through the open road tolling, it will count you as their trailer and they will get charged and not you You have to get pretty close though, but it does work..........before I got my ipass I tested it numerous times with a buddy!
I guess it probably takes awhile to get from the Twin Cities to Chii............thats like almost a 6 hr drive isn't it?

Eh its all what you care about. We have 3-4 months of bitter cold, FL has 3-4 months of bitter heat and humidity............both are about the same, no one really goes outside besides certain times of day.

If I can help it, I'm not using public transportation. I rode the Metra a couple weeks ago, and I'm not a fan.

Exactly, personally I'd rather live in this climate then a hot climate. I can dress warm, but I can't dress cool.(I hate the sun)
Chicago winters are a little nicer/warmer(about 5 degrees on average) then here, but it actually feels colder there because of the wind. My sis in law was born and raised in Chicano, and when she lived in MN for a couple years, she said it's worse in Chicago(winters..). Not to mention, neither place is getting the winters we used to get in the '80's.. global warming.

True, we do get nasty patches, but the 4 months of solid hell we used to get are gone. Now it isn't unusual to get random 50F days in the winter(unheard of before)..
