Thread: Official: The McLaren P1 !!!

Please keep in mind that this is part of a design study that will help build the final product. Right now with the front windshield blacked out, it makes the car look a little tall. NOT the case in the flesh! P1 is going to be an absolutely groundbreaking vehicle. Every little curve, cut, wing, intake, and outtake was placed and formed on the car for a specific reason...DOWNFORCE. The aerodynamics, wind tunnel testing, and materials used will allow this vehicle to do things on and off the track that street cars have never done before. The performance numbers that this car is going to put down will raise the bar to a whole new level......

Be patient.

Coming from a Mclaren fan I do wish the car looked a lot more aggressive. With that being said I still don't dislike how it looks and I'm sure the specs will be very impressive.

A bit curvaceous, but I think I will grow to like this car. The fact that Mclaren is producing another super car is good enough news for me. Love the comparison shots with the F1! Very unique looking car indeed.

waits to see it in real skin to make judgement

Like a lot of sentiment already voiced here, I was very apprehensive of the aesthetics when I first saw this design. No doubt it is "all business" underneath and gotta love it for that. However, the more I look at it the more I like it. Progress means change folks... can't expect bigger and better every iteration by keeping things the same... What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same things over and over expecting a different result

I was disappointed in the MP4-12C, but this P1 rendering is something special. I'm on board with this one!

Here's the F1-successor I was expecting out of the MP4-12. The old F1 was ahead of its time in performance and styling, so to see this P1 as enthralling to take in as it is... well, it makes me feel like all is right in the world.

According to a german car magazine, the P1 will feature a V8 engine + KERS, resulting in more than 900hp.
