Default 12C Can-Am Edition coming to Pebble Beach!

I'm thin on details at the moment, but this looks like yet another cool chapter in the 12C story.

McLaren shared these shots on their Facebook page - see the entire gallery here:

The link to the album is no longer working. It would seem that their PR department might have jumped the gun a little on releasing these images.

The album didn't have a name and there was also no info on the car when I saw it, so I had a feeling there might have been a problem. Plus we are still two or three days early of their first event at Pebble, so we'll probably see the rest of them again in a couple of days with a full press release to accompany the images. Can't wait!

    It's back!!!

    McLaren Automotive - 12C Can-Am Edition

    With info:

McLaren 12C Can-Am Edition racing concept announced:

McLaren GT, the team responsible for building the 12C GT3s seen racing across Europe this summer, are debuting a brand new concept racer at this weekends Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The 12C Can-Am edition - named after the infamous race series which saw some of McLarens greatest wins - is the first model that McLaren GT has displayed in North America, and is designed specifically for the market. The concept features the same carbon fibre MonoCell as the road going 12C, but adds a host of modifications designed strictly for the track: A brand new aerodynamics kit including splitter, diffuser and rear wing increases downforce by 30%, an uprated engine package generates up to 630hp, and extensive use of carbon fibre reduces weight to just 1,200kg (2645.5lbs).

So what do you think, are you ready to race yet?
YES!!! McLaren's back on track in America is AWESOME!!

apparently it is announced as a track day only car, not be raced in any series, just for the pure joy of driving. Does not fit any racing series specs.
