Photos are of Simon, one of the owners. However although "photographers have been discouraged" and at at the moment I can't say and show nothing, I was there!!! =D Guys... It was something of fantastic to see so much super exclusive F1 & F1 GTR toghether in a same place and in a same day! I've seen 10 of 19 cars of the event. Stay tuned!

Well I quoted you anyway. Yes, it is true that McLaren were instrumental in helping to organize this event and they have provided a support crew of very dedicated employees to look after the cars and ensure that all is well. They are doing a fantastic job.

Well maybe it is funny you ask, and thank you for thinking of me and making that comment. I was actually honored to receive an official invite to the McLaren F1 20th Anniversary gathering by the event organizers. It is a tremendously special opportunity - I am thrilled and amazed at every moment. As a condition of my participation I had to agree not to publish any photographs or information from the event prior to its conclusion. Perhaps things might take a bit longer because there is a need to have content approved by the organizers to ensure that we have not captured anything we shouldn't have. When I say 'we', there are three other people along for the journey who are also outsiders like myself. There have been a couple of other photographers who managed to discover the cars as well. Also the public and tourists in the region we are visiting have been able to enjoy brief glimpses of the cars as they pass on the roads. For some it has been overwhelming and the surprise of their life. For me it is quite the same.
I will have more details to share when the event has completed and hopefully the pictures and info will not leave you disappointed. Again it is a dream and an honor to be here. The only thing that pains me is that I wish many more people could be here in person to have the same experience with the cars. However, security concerns for the cars and those involved take precedence in this situation. I am sure most will understand.

Thank you gentlemen - it has been a wonderfully amazing trip, through and through.
The veil of secrecy has been lifted a bit this evening as the event is now over and the cars are headed back to their homes around the world. Here are the chassis numbers of the cars that were in attendance:
01 - XP3
02 - XP4
03 - 001
04 - 007
05 - 009
06 - 018
07 - 024
08 - 038
09 - 046
10 - 062
11 - 064
12 - 067
13 - 069
14 - 072
15 - 05R
16 - 06R
17 - 07R
18 - 10R
19 - 12R
Here are a set of shots I took for the owner of chassis #007 on the drive the second day. We covered 456 kilometers and touched 320 KM/h at one point on the Autostrada. It was massively awesome!
I don't generally regard myself as a photographer - I am more of a guy with a camera, but I was certainly quite pleased with the results of a few of these snaps and I hope you are too.

I've got to finish out my trip over the next couple of days with some other ambitious plans before I get back on a plane for home on Sunday morning so it might be a while before I can include any additional updates. For now I would suggest keeping an eye on the dedicated McLaren F1 forum at AutomotiveForums.com as that's the place you are most likely to see fresh quality content. We have a thread there titled McLaren F1 Owner's Club that has the whole story, or at least as much as can be told.
