Because the G Wagen does not look like a SUV especially designed for soccer-moms (nothing against them!).
Plus it is a former military vehicle with over 500 bhp (55) and all the luxury you can imagine and not a CAR designed to serve any special target group or market or what ever - It was designed to serve a purpose and that's what it looks like and that's what it makes so desirable.

It has an old money feel/look to it that Range Rovers will never achieve. The G class looks like an SUV that the Rothschild family would drive

I have had 5 G's and 6th due to arrive August....
Never had 1 issue with a G Wagon... You like them or hate them...no in between. If you drive a 55 you will get it...
Can Range Rover say that? Or, Tata Motors?

Who does performance mods for the G's besides Renntech? I'm considering a G500 but I know they are slow. Renntech has a kit that gets it up into G550 territory but you're going to spend almost what you would for getting used G55.

we have a g63 on order. cant wait. im not the biggest fan of them, but my wife loves the shit out of em. she loves the visibility.

I looked at a White on Black G63 today in Phoenix. The interior is great! They are growing on me. But way more than i'd be looking to spend right now
