    Default CLK500 Brakes

So here's a question I cant seem to find an answer for. I replaced my brakes a while back and put on new pads and rotors all the way around on my car. (2003 CLK500) and the brakes feel funny. The pedal seems spongey and dosent seem to want to stop quickly. I used only OE Mercedes brakes, I forgot what brand they were, and the rotors look black. There's no warpage, no hard braking on them. Nothing. Is there any reason for me to have spongey brakes? I even did a brake flush to see if that would help and it hansnt.

The brakes are bled out. Already done that. Power bled with a vacuum system. No air even close to being in there. All Dot 4 MB fluid.

Could be the brake fluid itself but most likely it's air in the lines and you need to have it bled again - properly by a different shop

Try flushing the brake system. I know you said you bled them, but maybe a full flush is in order. 8 year old brake fluid is probably not helping your cause. Just be careful as to not go too far and bust the seals on the master cylinder.

Well thats what it was lol. I guess I should have said that first. All new pads rotors and fluid flush. The brakes are OE Mercedes, and the fluid is Dot 4, not sure of the brand but it's the same fluid put in all the other Mercedes in the shop with no issues.

Why would the rotors be black though? I tried to google black rotors and didn't come up with anything. I've tried to sand it off and it all came back within like a week.
